Panchakarma Course Guide: What It Is, Eligibility and Career Options

A Panchakarma technician course trains you to assist Ayurveda doctors (BAMS/MD Ayurveda) in Panchakarma therapies — the five classical detoxification and rejuvenation procedures — and in related treatments such as massage (abhyanga) and steam (swedana). These courses are usually certificates or diplomas offered by Ayurveda institutions and hospitals.

What is Panchakarma?

In Ayurveda, Panchakarma refers to five main procedures: Vamana, Virechana, Basti, Nasya and Raktamokshana. They are always planned and supervised by a qualified Ayurveda physician. Technicians prepare the patient and the therapy room, carry out supportive procedures as instructed, and maintain hygiene and records.
